Parker had a fabulous speech session today.  I can't explain how long we've worked on him sticking his tongue out!

On August 30th, 2014, Parker at 15 1/2 mos old fell off a picnic bench only 2 1/2 feet off the ground. He had been up and down that bench several times that night, but this time he fell. He hit his head just wrong on the packed dirt below and it caused a subdermal hematoma- severe bleeding in the brain. I saw him fall and rushed over and scooped him up in my arms. About the time I would expect him to settle down, he started having a seizure. I handed him to my husband and said "I think he is having a seizure. Will you give him a blessing." Within 2 minutes of Parker falling, my husband gave him a priesthood blessing. From that moment on I knew he was going to be fine. I had no idea what fine was, but I felt peace and knew he would be fine. That is Parker's Promise.

We rushed him to the ER in a little town north of Santa Barbara where we were visiting friends and embarked on a night and journey of unknowns. It was full of dedicated doctors and nurses, a life flight to UCLA, a neurosurgeon who left a movie theater early on a date with his wife to save my son's life, and many other tender mercies to let us know God was mindful of us. I will be forever grateful for the seizure that prompted us to rush him to the ER and to the many doctors, nurses, therapists, family, friends and countless others that have been with us every step of the way. I thank my Heavenly Father every day we got to keep him. He is truly a miracle and continues to make miraculous progress everyday. He will be fine. This is Parker's Promise.
